Lemans Won't Be The Same Again
« on: October 02, 2015, 11:52:11 pm »
For me anyway........

Tuesday 29th September 1537 at Angers Hospital, France my dad passed away  :'(

He had what's called a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) This happened the end of the week before when I was in Majorca at the time so flew home and drove strsight to France. He held on till I got there to say my goodbyes as my brother got in from Australia also.

We cremated him today so we can get him back to the uk and start sorting things out. France has its own charms to be completed first mind!

My dad hasn't missed a race in over 30 years and he got me into motorsport and particularly Lemans.

He lived for the place hence having a house near the town & you can tell from the picture below he had a favourite car!!

I love the race and spending time with him there but next year will miss something massive for me and I'll be raising several beers for him.

Rip dad gone but never forgotten

I'm sorry for your loss.
I lost my best friend of 30 years to cancer this summer, and I too am facing a sad return to Le Sarthe next June.
Together we maintained a twenty year presence at the great race, and I will return next year with a heavy heart to honour his memory and love for the place.
I for one will be thinking of you in 2016.

Sorry to hear of your loss Kev.
It's a tough time.

Keep the good times clear in your memory and enjoy Le Mans in the future, for both of your sakes.

Le Mans - the how you get there is not quite as important as being there.

Condolences, and hope that the initial pain and sadness fades and changes soon to celebrating his life and the great memories he has given you.

So sorry to hear of your loss Kev, in the dark times remember the good times and with time, the good will overcome the dark, not easy right now though. Be sure to drop by next year so that we can drink a toast to him.
