Mobile phone Roaming Charges
« on: May 04, 2016, 01:00:43 am »

I see that from later this month Tesco Mobile is removing all European data roaming charges and minutes and data come out from the airtime package that you have.

No more having to use Skype at McDonalds now :P

After a quick look at the small print....

Yes, you are quite correct!  3rd September

Good catch, but it will do me for Le Mans!

Quite a few mobile providers are now removing euro roaming charges on some of their packages...

...my supplier (vodaphone) has just done so at no cost.  Check your update options.

I think they have to remove the Roaming Charges now, I'm sure I saw somewhere that they have been deemed illegal.
Of course I buy green cars, my Aston is green, my MGB is green, my Disco Sport is green,  oh, that's not what you meant by green?

I think they have to be abolished by June 2017 but some providers have already. They have to be capped this year.

TalkMobile look to still be charging to roam so I'm going to keep contact home to a minimum....the Mrs is upset enough about not being able to come along this year, I wouldn't want to rub it in would I???

EE customers will now get 500MB of full-speed data for £4/day from the 11th of May.  Set up will be automatic it says, however it took 2 days for it to kick in for me in Luxembourg & Belgium this weekend.

Additionally from April 30th outgoing call costs drop to 4.4p/min, incoming call costs drop to 1.0p/min and texts drop to 1.8p. Data will be 4.4p/MB (but see the above)

Those figures are for EU countries.
