Guys,

If you are watching, and want that authentic LM experience, I recommend that you periodically step fully clothed into the shower.

Where in NY? I'm originally from Queens many many
 moons ago.

The fleet is moored at Liberty Landing in Jersey.    I'm in an apartment with a huge tv.   Grin

It's not often I say that I'm glad I'm not at a motor race, but I'm glad I'm not there.  I was at Le Mans for the monsoon of 2001, have no desire to re-live that experience.

Recorded the start, watched them get to mulsanne then deleted it. Just got sat down to watch a bit and it looks good. Dr Audi has some work to do and the Fords running very well,I'm happy.

Question:  I haven't taken the time to check regulations....how does a car that does not exist yet (Ford GT) get to run in GTE?

Fairly sure they are available to preorder and although road car specs may vary,I'd imagine the basic car,and more importantly the parts that matter for going racing will be set in concrete for homologation purposes.

The deadline for application came and went about a week ago. Again, the cars don't exist yet. Special dispensation for Ford for the 50th anniversary is what I figger... 'Don't like it. I am a Ford fan but right is right and this ain't right, in my opinion.

If a big manufacturer wants to participate at Le Mans, and the WEC, the ACO & FIA will bend the rules to attract them, simple as that.  Happens all the time in life, money & influence talk.

I was off by a bit. The deadline for the application to purchase a GT ($550,000.00+) was sooner. I can't come close to affording one so I never read much about it.
