Random breath tests
« on: June 01, 2017, 02:51:47 pm »
Just a reminder to everyone.
Les Flics were doing random breath tests on the Monday morning after the race.
I got pulled at the A28 peage just before Rouen.

A timely reminder that there will be both random breath testing and speed traps galore!

On Monday morning I will be mostly sleeping!  We don't return home until Tuesday  :)
Of course I buy green cars, my Aston is green, my MGB is green, my Disco Sport is green,  oh, that's not what you meant by green?

A cautionary tale form this morning:

M27 Eastbound between Portsmouth and Fareham currently blocked by an upside down car having rolled down the middle of the carriageway.  Judging by the suitcases in the back it had just come off the ferry and was heading home after a half term holiday.  I shall certainly be more aware of how tired I am when I get off the ferry.

Be safe everyone.

We're staying over night in Chartres again this year but that still means that I need to be sober for the short (1 hour) drive from Bleu Nord to Chartres.

Our route on Monday takes us cross country to Rouen so hopefully we'll avoid most of the obvious pinch points along the A28.

Tempted to de-sticker on Monday morning so as to appear less of a target for the drive north to le Chunnel.

All of the speed traps I spotted last year on Monday morning were on the A28 north of Rouen.

I got stopped in Le Lude Sunday after the race on my way back to the house. Opposite way of any usual traffic. Spotted the roof box and pulled me basically as I was English. Took my licence (didnt know what to do with it which was comical) did the breath test and no drink at all since saturday afternoon let me on my way.

I was breath tested on my first evening at Le Mans this year (the Thursday prior to Test Day).  Totally random.  We'd just been out to eat and as I don't drink alcohol (at all) I was fine.
