Wine boxes down yer pants is the best way to go. Remember to take the bag out the box first.
There's no room  ;)

This is like the Olympics - you get frisked for Pepsi and Mars bars because its sponsored by competitors, and then you pay through the nose for everything and they're laughing all the way to the bank.

I think Ecclestone started a big Don't Drink and Drive thing in F1 a year or two back, and now there are big signs saying "Zero Alcohol".  So do we care if F1 is dry.  Mind you I couldn't watch it sober

What about the hip flask on my bicycle that's filled to the brim with 12 year old single malt Laphroaig? I'm not pouring that away! >:D

Isn't this why CamelBak's were invented?  ;)

No taking drink in? I've always disregarded such pettifogging regulations, preferring instead to use initiative to find an amenable way around them. A camelback containing a litre of vodka, and a coolbox of Coke, ice and lemon seems a perfectly sensible and agreeable option.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Some stopped any alcohol some stopped bottles.

Camel back was full of beer and other drinks left in ruck sacks. Also we fill the chairs with bottles between the legs. As long as nothing clinks your all fine (we also walked in with bottles in our pockets)

To be honest I thought the security was very fair overall.

Almost all of the time we went in as a group the security checks were sensible and precautionary.  No long delays.

I confess that I was expecting security to be savage but was pleasantly surprised at how unobtrusive, respectful and efficient it all was.

Well done the ACO and their advisors!!

I thought security was fine. Did not take any bottles in so had no problems.

Security was more obtrusive going in and out of the various retail outlets in the village than it was going in and out of the circuit. A good, efficient job by the ACO I thought. Not often you can say that  ;D

I also thought it was well done. Didn't take up too much time and they even had a sense of humour. Top marks ACO.

French spectators seemed to get in the usual supply of alcohol though.

I was actually surprised walking in and out with a rucksack that it was only searched once when I left the museum on Sunday - presumably to check for theft. I also saw a bunch of guys walking around with beer holding utility belts full of glass bottles who hadn't had any entry problems.
I felt security was too light to be honest.

Friday we were not allowed to take in Cans of Beer. Coke was OK.
Saturday, Coke was NOT OK, so I asked why had the rules changed and the lady checking from Houx to the Track waved as in.
Sunday, Beer smuggled in.

Really ACO, it's getting beyond a joke. your Beer prices are way too high.
