No experience of Epinettes at all, not ever, sorry. I'm sure somebody will be able to help soon, there's not much the collective experience of CA can't address regarding Le Mans. There's sure to be info elsewhere on the web if you can't wait though and the worst I've endured at LM, Beauséjour in a tiny igloo tent in pissing rain, unmarked pitches, no power hook up and 'indifferent' facilities was an experience shared with my missus and we still enjoyed it, relatively speaking.
Mrs Starbar should take a chance and go across, what's the worst that can happen?

Stayed there for the first time this year.
No marked pitches, but they do control how much space you take.
Longest queue for a shower I saw was 2, yes 2 people.
Usually you could just walk into one.
Never saw a queue for the bogs!
Electricity there but you have to get there early in the week or its long extension leads and a lot of piggy backing.
Grass, better than my lawn.
Very chilled!
No chavs!
20 minutes walk to anywhere, tunnel to stands, Tetre Rouge, village.
Watch out, I got caught out when they suddenly started asking for  LM entrance tickets to get into the site from about Thursday.
Security very good.
Quite.
Overall very good site, but not a party site.

To my knowledge anyone can camp there, unless they have changed it recently.
