Beer in the enclosure
« on: January 01, 2023, 09:40:42 pm »
Does anyone have any guidance on whether we'll be allowed to take tins of beer into the circuit enclosure?

Last year it was not allowed, bags were searched at the gates.

Were tins taken as well as glass bottles?

No alcohol at all at a lot of the gates allowed into the circuit.

They even checked bag chairs, so no hiding beer in their. Bottles of coke were still allowed so could pre mix with rum. We were in Terte Rouge so already had beer but did buy some cans, had cargo shorts so put them in bottom pockets and carried my open rucksack in front. Was waved through after quick glance.
Like the idea of a beer belt with jacket over while carrying bag. Could work!
Or a bag from wine box as beer belly ;D
Never argue with an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Or on Houx one gate no one was on all week so just walk through each time as the other gate was SANS Alcohol despite what it said on the picture above.

Last year we never had any problems getting beer in to the circuit.  The beer was in cans and in our bags which were usually searched.  Entered from Beausejour or the main entrance by the museum.

Interesting to see they've tightened things up a little this year; no dogs, scooters or bikes in the circuit.

I wonder what that icon between rollerblade and bicycle is... no jetpacks?

Also interesting that even the chart which sets out what is and is not allowed, has the disclaimer that all of this is at the sole discretion of the security staff on duty...
Also -

"There will be several checks at the Gate: visual inspection of coats, jackets and bags, scanning with a metal detector, and body searches. To speed up the procedures, we ask you to open your bag ready for inspection, and then open your jacket.

Also keep your ticket handy and present some form of ID.::)

Ah yes, I forgot they were still a thing. Guess most of the people who used them are now on "thermal scooters"

Which sites are within the enclosure, as we've been thinking about Houx.  Do we have to cut a hole in the fence?

I think it's just Houx and Garage Vert now (is part of Tetre Rouge inside?)
