Has anybody camped recently at Arnage?
To access Arnage viewing area do you have to leave camping by the main entrance/exit and use the main entrance into the viewing area?
Or is there another entrance to the viewing area further into the campsite?

I've never camped there but I've been there many times and from memory, I don't recall seeing any direct access.  Which makes sense as you would need a ticket check there.  I assume you'll need to exit the camping area and go in by the main entrance there.  Could be wrong though....

Interesting, may be a fact which decides where I camp on the site.
Walking being an issue.
Can understand why the ACO wouldn't want to man another entrance.

I suppose it's just possible that they could check that everyone on the pitch has an entry ticket on arrival, but bearing in mind that there's bound to be some to-ing and fro-ing, I just don't see how that could work.   I'm trying to remember as I've walked in and out of the enclosure (many many times) whether there is a way to just walk from the campsite in and my mind is telling me that I'm sure there is...but I just can't fathom how that would work.   There's bound to be someone along soon who will know for sure....

I'm sure it changed post covid with the changes in the lay out that you get your tickets checked going in and that is it as its the entrance to the campsite also. So once your in say camping you can then get over to the viewing without more checks etc.

Barry

Thx to you both.
I'm arriving early, Friday before test day so will have a chance to drive round the site, suss it out and pick my spot.

Yeah, that does sound logical to me.

Baz,

Camping and GE spectator entry are separated to keep the pikies/riff-raff away from the campers.

Hi John
So when on foot, you have to exit the campsite at the car entrance and reenter through the GE gate with everyone else?

As far as I know, yes. I've only even gone in on a media pass.
