Dont bother with cheap, get a taxi.We had one at PQ from town centre to near the circuit where we were staying and it was 25 EUROS.I realize a touch expensive but it beats waiting for the bus.

They are called Taxis in France too. There is a taxi rank just outside the station.
Just ask for Circuit du Mans pronounced "sirkwee du mon" and that should be enough.

There is a dedicated shuttle bus from the station to the track. Goes from station doors to main entrance.

Regret to advise Bus is not free from the station. As you exit the doors bear right and look for the sign.

Well it was 1991 that I used the bus, and to expect it to still be free was a tad optomistic...

you had better be arriving very early saturday as the locals go to the track as well and the trafic is diabolical, a motorbike from carrefour to bleu 10am in the morning 1 hour. no bull sh*t.
so hire a push bike or a moped or better still bring gopeds.

Roll Eyes Local ADvice  Roll Eyes

Use the shuttle by bus !

The buses have a specific itinerary to go faster to the circuit even when there's a traffic jam.

That's a specific way or in French an "Itineraire Bis" and even I like all of you I'll never tell you the way the locals use
