Another (stupid) newbie question:

Which Michelin Map is best (giving the most detail) for the Le Mans area?  I see that there are all kinds of d/l-able maps on these threads, but given poor printing performance I thought getting a Michelin would be best.

Thanks!

I use this map around the Le Mans area.  It's a decent scale and gives you all the back roads / cuts to the other parts of the circuit.

Available from all good map suppliers (in France anyway!)

My god you must have good eyesight - I can see the town on that map, and a few major roads, but not a lot else  Wink Grin

I've got the same one now. Not as good as Ordnance Survey, but pretty detailed.

We just look for the Goodyear airship when we get to town and aim for underneath it

I bought the blue map (Sur Blue Sheet Number: 1719E Le Mans) from Stamfords Map shop in Convent Garden via the phone (0207 836 1321).

It comes in really useful when navigating through the forest in the run up to the race trying to find the unique spot. Remember to watch out for the flying Merc's though.

 Cool
Map - follow all the other English reg. cars when you get off the ferry, and soon you will be at Le Mans.

Unless you follow the wrong one, and then you'll have a weekend at a Keycamp campsite or you'll spend the weekend at someone’s (who wants to get away from it all) retreat.

Either way, just  set up your tent, get p***ed and you'll have the consolation that at least you can use a deceit toilet...........

There's an Idea my parents are taking their motorhome to France the same week along with about 8 others meeting on campsite somewhere. I guess each of these can have a few years worth of Le Mans stickers on the back Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I ordered mine from the French National Geographic Intitute on line ar www.ign.fr

Cost 7 euros plus 3.79 euros postage.  Ability to navigate the french website is useful Wink

Getting Gilles to post one is probably easier.  What a nice chap he is Smiley

I can recommend the service offered by Stamfords, they seem to carry the blue series and the smaller scale green maps as stock. Very quick and efficient service on their web site.
