Colin McRae to drive at Le Mans

After some speculation, the Scot will drive a Ferrari 550 Maranello GTS for the Care Racing Development team.

Should get him to drive a Merc. He would do OK in the trees.

My guess is a fast start, followed by an immediate off at the Dunlop chicane...

Followed by prolonged shouting and cursing, finger pointing etc.

I bet he'll go quicker through the gravel than some will on the tarmac!

I hope he does better than Derek Bell did when he tried swapping to rally cars...I recall he stalled in the water and retired early!

Oh Jesus!
Does anyone remember Derek Bell's stab at the RAC Rally when the on-board camera caught his co-driver shouting "Derek, Oh Derek, Oh Derek!..Bam, Smash, Crash (glass shattering)....Ohhh Derek.  It was fricking hilarious.  Think it was from the late eighties.  All kidding aside, Colin obviously has bucketloads of natural ability, if he can contain the Scottish Red Mist, he should do fine.

Trouble is more likely to be boredom - when has he ever travelled more than a couple of hundred yards in a straight line? :)

Will be great to see him using the handbrake though going around Mulsanne and Arnage corners!

BTCC and ASCAR guest appearances - don't knock him - for all his faults re: mardy prima-donna that he is, he can drive, no error.
