We go in every year. There is a bar, cleanish bogs and restaurant.  Small terrace overlooking the track which has waiter service. Beer is expensive though.

For some reason last year they fenced off the section next to the track which meant entrance to the bar / restaurant bit was free. In effect therefore you were paying to get close to the track which you can do for free elsewhere, seemed a bit stupid.

If I were you I'd have a look to see if the fence is there. If it is go into the restaurant and you can get past the fence by going through the fire door at the end of the restaurant without paying.

Other advantage is its closeness to the Champ bar and that thingy that flogs the cheese flavoured mashed potatoes with bits of bacon in it.
