First time to Le Mans. Last minute booking. Got the ferry booked, but it looks like all the campsites are booked. (Apart from £389 for the VIP pitch).
What are the alternatives? Is the off-site camping any good, and is it a pain to get in/out of the circuit.
Can you catch a few hours kip in the car park for race night, or (someone mentioned to me) at the back of the grandstand?
2 blokes, on a budget, arriving by car midnight Friday
Thanks,
Paul

You will be able to camp  in the car park by the start finish straight. Meant to be for parking only but late arrivals always camp there

Hi Paul,

we might have a spare ticket for Camping Beausejour, but I cannot confirm yet, in about 2 weeks I will know more when it becomes clear, with how many cars we'll go to LM this year. If you are interested, let's stay in touch. The ticket is 35 EURO (face-value).
Cheers

As Rhino has said if all else fails in previous years people have just set up their tents in the car parks.  I have seen tents in Parking Rouge and Parking Bleu, just to give you an idea of where to head to.

However every year the ACO do say they will clamp down on people campin in the car parks, but they haven't yet.

A couple of years ago some of our friends were in Parking Vert and the security guards came round at 5am on the Friday morning threatening to confiscate any tents that weren't taken down in 5 minutes.

Not usre if theyt came back again or not as they did as they were told and moved.

Ironically, theye were only in there because they had a ticket for Interior Musee (entrance right next door) but it was cram pack solid when they got there.

Last year Aco set up an extra "expanding" campsite in the Blue car park. I'm sure they'll do that again this year. Don't panic!

Good god, an expanding campsite! It's started happening there as well. Take a compass and a ball of string, anything could happen.

Kpy, you maybe right. they're digging and lifting blue park these days, and obviously not only for the Grand prix de France Moto. A pair of wc boxes has be set up, so the car park may become an extra campsite. During the Lemans Classic, it was the only one campsite available however!

Thanks for all the helpful advice, guys.
Werner, thanks very much for your offer. I am interested - it seems as if that would be the best solution, and the "expanding campsite" as a last resort. I'll email you.

8)If you are still looking for a camping pass there are a few on eBay.  There are 4 for Beaujesour that are only at a quid at the moment!  I presume the reserve is 35 Euros ( whatever that is in real money? )

I have noticed that this years Camping Bleaus are marked 'Bleu Sud', as the camping field is south of the Bleau parking, I guess this is to tell them apart if they issue camping permits for the parking area.
Or have I got a ticket for some where else completley? Undecided
