At www.imdb.com (International Movie Database) the movie "Michel Vaillant" is still listed as "in production"

Maybe they will do the test screenings over the 24 Hours?  Seems an ideal place, and they did have the PC/Playstation game testing there before it was released...

:( Sorry, no information for a release date  :(

But sure Lm will be a good place for test screening.

BTW they don't show it at the Cannes festival, so it won't be released until th end of the year probably.

You'll still have to read an another time the comic strip !

'Michel Vaillant' Movie...

Check out    http://michelvaillant.free.fr/    for info. I think there's an English Language section in there somewhere.

The film is due for release 6 August 2003 (in France I expect). Not sure if it will be released in UK as he's a French comic strip motor racing racing hero.

It'll probably end up with a straight to DVD/Video release here (didnt "Driven" get the same treatment?).

I'm supposed to be meeting Jean Graton, Michel Valliant's creator, at a party tomorrow night.

I'll try and get some info from him then.

Incidentally, Michel Valliant was a TV series in the mid 60s, with MV played by real-life racer Henry Grandsire, and with genuine GP footage with the GP drivers of the day.
Henry was once French F3 Champion and came a heroic 9th overall in a 1292cc  Alpine A210 with Leo Cella at Le Mans 1966. 1st in Prototypes 1151-1300cc.

I wish that Driven had gone straight to DVD, then I wouldn't have wasted £6 on the cinema price and 2 hours of my time !

Dreadful film is an understatement !

Agree with that, the "Driven"-DVD should be used as a frisbee, at best

How can you do to be engaged in such nice plans ?  :-\

Hoping you've got a pile of comic strips to dedicate!  ;)

The K7s of the MV TV show could be considered as a good european subsitute to "Le Mans", the film that most of us still are not able to see in Europe.

hehehehe - Could have been worse - it could have been about F1 and there would have been no overtaking at all, and one team/driver would have won everything.

Was pooh, but I suppose it gave Sly a good excuse for lots of jollies to GPs & CART events

Eric and Marie leblon Delienne are old friends and neighbours. They are having a big party in a local chateau to ceibrate the first 20 years of their company.
Marie is about to start work on a series of Michel Valliant statuettes - so Jean Graton will be there and Marie will introduce me to him.
This month's Automobile Historique has an interview with Henry Grandsire!
