Most on line
« on: May 17, 2005, 08:28:00 pm »
I see we have hit the most on line for a good while today, is there something going on shortly, as people are starting to get frenzied or are we all that bored at work that we spend most of the time on the PC.
If you find out what is coming up next month drop me a pm.
Brian.

Play with it but don't kill it...
I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

I have been frightfully busy at work recently - not even getting a chance for a sneaky peek during the day!

From what I can see which is not much.  But it looks like CA is on a dedicated host.
I know a bit about web servers.  I would doubt we even tickle the server.
Given the highest ever was 59 on June 7 last year and by default the webservers are configured to handle 100+ concurrent requests.  So you would need to have a very cordinated effort like getting150 people to request a different page at the same moment.  Even then you probably won't manage it.  When DOS (Denial Of Service) attacks are made they need to get thousands of machines to constanly hammer a machine   to have any effect.

Thats not a challenge. BTW.
