Hmmm
59 x 2 = 108  euros
108 / 1.45 = £81.37

This is terrible.  I was hoping to get £50 each.  How am I going to subsidise the booze bill now.  Where's last years MB pass and some Tippex.

I have just purchased a megaphone from ebay for the princely sum of a tenner.  My mouth is watering at all the wonderful japes and scrapes that will get me in. I think i will be packing it alongside my aston martin flag. Now lets go look for an air horn.

Well well i just had a quick squizz, and low and behold, here's me thinking you can only by one tone airhorns, when really they sell them and they play tunes. So far i have seen Bridge over the River Kwai, whistling dixie and cucaracha.

This is surely an important must have purchase

I have just seen some bloke offering 'The Aston Martin Experience at Le Mans -2005' on that auction site. This involves being driven around the public roads that form part of the circuit on Friday in some blokes Aston. And he wants £50 a time. Take two passengers in the back & it's up to £80!!

You could do the Helecopter trip around the circuit during the race for that money.

Do the passengers know they are likley to get soaked by water pistols as they drive certain parts of the circuit. Do they know they will be unable to go faster than 10mph on many parts due to crowds. Do they know the open parts of the circuit are swarming with French Police? Do they know they can drive the circuit for free? So he is charging £50 for a sit in his Aston!!

I am all for free enterprise, but this is taking the pi**. I doubt (but do not know) if this guy has insurance to carry fare paying passengers. I think he is just another from that auction site who see's the 'Le Mans Experience' as an oppertunity to make money. I thought that was the ACO's job!!

I can offer an 'experience' on the back seat of my car, if anyone's interested?

Keep the parking sticker in the screen for next year. I practiced that last year with the 2003 sticker and it worked. They didn't check the year on the sticker and let me through. Unfortunately I had to swap the windscreen early this year because of a severe crack so that I will need to buy a parking sticker this year. That'll be 25 Euros off the booze budget.

As for the people who pay this premium voluntarily:   :-X :-X :-X

I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

Whilst I despair of ebay and the massive prices consider the following

There is a group of you who are desperate to go to the racing event of the year but you are too dim-witted to organise it properly and haven't booked camping about 8 years in advance. You're travelling down in an MPV so only need 1 pass therefore £200 between say 6 people really isn't that bad.

It's just as well that the ACO haven't taken hold of the ebay idea and started charging for camping per person or tent instead of per car.

On a separate note, BigH, are you running bookings or is it just turn up and blow, sorry go.

Jay there's some belting goods on offer on eBay at the moment.

and

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21577&item=5392452205&rd=1

and

These things would seem vital for an enjoyable time at Le Mans, let alone the prospect of an experience on the back seat of H's Jag.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.
