Tying stuff to the roof of your car...
« on: June 12, 2005, 01:41:39 am »
Is it legal or not? We haven't got a roof rack between our two cars, but it will make life so much easier if we can tie the gazebo (boxed) to the roof, or any other suggestions to help with space would be appreciated...

As far as I am aware, you can tie things to the roof without a proper roof rack as long as they are secured properly!

That said, it's likely to scrtach your roof up!!

Also, your ferry crossing probably wasn't made to allow for a roof rack (I know you've not got a rack as such but it still might mean you need high top space)

Indeed, Chunnel even has a very mean metal bar to shove everything off roofs being too high! :o
Better check with them first :-\
