Hi All,

Some of you may know (thanks for all that tried to help) but we at Team JPC failed to get our Sky Satelite working for the weekends festivities.

I'm sure that a number of you managed to get yours working. Soooooooo.... to avoid dispointment next year especially as it's World Cup year, is there a definative setup that is absolutley garanteed to work? I'm talking Dish type/size, LMB etc

Cheers

RobboSPS and Crew had theirs working, they were watching TopGear Sunday night! As far as I can remember they had a simular, small dish like yours.

We had ours set up eventually, even though it took a few German Toyota-engineers to set it up properly. We had an 80 cm dish, but not realy any knowlegde of how such things work Sad

I must add to that that we had it working, untill someone came by with a other receiver and people started fooling around on the thing again. After that I left it to someone else to get it right again. Wink

Some info here http://tinyurl.com/8j63g but as your Team Principal was resident on that thread I imagine it won't help you much....

If you get it working, will we watch QVC at Poker Night next year instead of the Porking Channel?? Smiley

We at Team Crapaud got our sky+ and dish working, but only after setting it slightly higher off the ground. We used an old  tyre on the roof of our van and sat the dish in that, worked fine after that.

Gazza.

We turn ours to the right direction - no tree's in the way at the top of a 6ft scaffold pole.

It was a little less easy this year, but we still got everything involved.

I believ the signal comes from 150 degrees from North HuhHuh

161 degrees south of north was how I set it orginally - then worried about the elevation etc.

Team JPC had two problems

1 ( the critical problem) was that there were at least 5 LARGE trees in direct view of the satelitte which you could do nothing about

2:  You were using a camera tripod to mount the dish!!

"statellites" (to quote good ol del boy are very precise, and being digital, you either have a signal, or you dont.

Next year you need a more solid pole, and a clear view of the sky towards the bottom end of the campsite.

Even with all that, you also need a satelitte finder gauge, or a willing volunteer to be plied with more tropicoma to line it all up for you.

You may also wish to advise drunk fat blokes not to go piling into the pole in a drunken stupor Wink

Hope that helps
