When do they publish the race dates for next year (2006)?

You can sort of guess the tentive dates.    17th and 18th I think.  But the International Calender is not finalised untill the end of the year  I think.

You may well be right Mr Toad.

I thought it was the weekend before the Longest Day.

I always play safe and tell my boss "Forget book anything for me in June"  Once I know the date I get a bit more flexible.

Dates are generally confirmed sometime around November but I have known them be announced as early as August before now.

I also note that in 1994 it was the 18/19th and 1995 the 17/18th and in 1983 it was on 18/19th and 1984 16/17th (1984 was a leap year) So that's a strong president for it being 17/18th in 2006.

But who knows what the future holds?

I've a feeling in my water that the Classic being confirmed for 7 / 8 / 9 July 2006 may have some affect on when the main 24 hour race will be.  I'm going with 10 / 11 June  Roll Eyes

going with 17/08 because you also now have to put inside the calendar the test day 15 days before.

ALMS calendar already fixed? it may help...

I think the 3rd weekend in the month is correct. THey moved it this year due to the US & Japaneese teams not having to do two seperate trips between testing and the race. THis of course had to fit in with the ALMS & Le Mans Endurance series as well.

I think the 3rd weekend will be the one

Are they confident enough to guarantee you a refund if they're wrong!!   Grin

Personally I would go for the 17th & 18th as I think they want it closer to the Classic rather than further from it.

But as said before until all of the international calendars are confirmed the ACO do not formally confirm the date.  Take your chance with ferry bookings if you wish (and I might do a bit later on) but don't moan if you get it wrong!!

The only thing predictable about this is that its unpredicable.  But if the schoolkids have the 17th off it has my vote, until someone changes their mind
