.......Dont expect much in the way of work though

Thanks Gary - I know you made the move a couple of years ago.  We are not intending to go quite so far south as you, but it is a big step all the same.

We are both retired, so the prospect of no work appeals very much.

If we ever get to your neck of the woods, I'll give you a shout.

Del

Hi all

Just got back to the cold, wet and windy UK.

Had a great time, although managed to cover nearly 4000 kilometers.

Anyway, the result is that I have signed the 'Compromis de vente' - the initial contract - on a house in Dordogne, 25k east of Perigeaux in a lovely village.  Modern(ish) and not too big, and is situated in a small garden of 11000 sq metres (that's nearly 3 acres to save you the maths).

Lovely people who are selling it - they plied us with wine and pastis everytime we went round there.  Also, they allowed me to store the caravan there, so I didn't have to drag it all the way back to the UK.

I reckon it will be about 5 hours from there to LM towing the 'van, so I will be there with the early birds on Sunday next year, also probably be at PQ.

More later - got to finish unpacking a lot of dirty LM t-shirts.

Welcome back Del!!

Sounds like it's all worked out well for you! I'll have to pick your brains about it when you are settled.

So, 3 acres huh??  I guess you could squeeze several tents in an area like that between PQ's and the main race, or between the main race and The Classic??  ;)

Good plan  ;)

Well done Del.  I'm getting green wishing I was upping sticks as well - 10 years and counting.......
