http://www.britishpathe.com/I found some fascinating footage on here. Use "advanced", set a timeframe, the 60's or before seem to work best, then try a keyword ("Le Mans" worked well, 'Goodwood' or Ferrari turned up good stuff as well).
Or just use random words and see what turns up.
