Your ONE best memory from 2005
« on: December 06, 2005, 12:19:47 pm »
Chrimbo and the New Year are nearly upon us, when we meet we are always talking about "do you remeber" or "did you see".

So with this in mind what was your ONE favourite memory of 2005?

It's not easy!!

All the best Peter

Friday night, standing outside the Maitre Kanter (sp??) in Le Mans drinking beer and watching the world go by and the Brits coming out of the car park with the necessary wheel spinning.  It was all good natured and lots of fun.

standing in the dfH pool, thinking "sh!t this beer is stronger than at home", boiling hot sunshine, cars whizzing around, and my dad flying towards me to push me over in the pool, watching his face as i moved and he disappeared head first into a pool which was very dirty at this point..... :d

If I can only pick one...

The arrival of the Gimp onto Maison Blanche. Undescribably funny...as all those that witnessed it would agree.

Mine at Le Mans, meeting Fran and Smokie.

Then seeing Fran not turn a hair at the sight of the Gimp at the 'poo bar. Mind you, having to chat with Paddy and me at the same time was probably a good reason for not "hair-turning"!

Paddy's beerglass mountain at the time was impressive. though, must have been that!

Specially whilst mopedboy was in the background too...

Oh b#ggerit! Just about all of LM this year fits the best moment category, including dragging my arthriticky legs to the champagne celebrations under the famous LM clock just after 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon with the trackside basking in 100+° temperatures.

2005 was magic for me for a whole week almost...

Singing on stage with the Flying Baguettes or the arrival of Gimp Zarse would normally be winners, but this year, seeing someone sit on the edge of the "easy-up" pool, collapsing it and allowing half the water to flood out, together with Bungle, one of the occupants, who was washed 20 feet away was just too funny.

Sunday nights concert by Arthur Brown at Le Mans was a fond inebriated memory

This is really funny to watch.  We had a similar occurance in 2004, when someone sitting inside just leaned too hard against the wall.  He was too  inebriated to do much about it, and once it starts it doesn't stop!  Another reason for prefering caravans to tents - they'll stand a good flooding

As much as I had the best Le Mans ever this year the one memory that stands out for me this year has to be the night-time excursion in Northamptonshire mid August.  Those of you who were there will know what I'm talking about.   ;)
Live imperfectly and with great delight.

All the above are fantastic memories, Gimps, Baguettes, pool antics and all. So good you honestly have to pinch yourself to make sure they really happened.

To be slightly serious, being waved down into the pits after the race at Sebring and hugged by Dave Richards and the Aston team was a top lifetime moment, let alone memory of the year.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Being woken at 4:30 am on Monday by someone banging my tent and yelling "Bob, wheres your car keys? I need my bag I've sh*t myself"

Not the nicest of alarm calls but one of the funniest
