I'm worried that one of these might be serious.  There is a point to it, but soldering a resistor into the ecu loom is beyond most of us.  Running slightly rich will usually produce more power, but hardly enough to measure, and would probably clog the cat sooner or later.

Fitting a better air filter and then attacking the loom sounds better.
