Okay here's a question for you Sarthe Vets...Say you want to make a beer/grocery run into town can you leave your campsite as is and not worry about poachers? Or do you hitch with some friendly neighbors? Whats the best idea? I know at Knoxville its not much of a problem since we've got a camper and can lock up. But if there are tents its alittle more difficult to be secure ya know? Lets talk!  Smiley

Hey Johnnyspa27,
It sort of depends which site you're camped in. I've sometimes left my tent for days, and it's been ok. The campsites are pretty crowded, which makes for a good atmosphere, and as you say, you can always have a word with your neighbours and ask them to keep an eye out for you.
Have you got camping tickets?

Jonny, introduce yourself to your neighbours over a friendly beer.  They'll watch out for your stuff as you would theirs.

...no problem Mr. Js27, just tell me how much Warstarter O`fest you need and I will bring it to you direct from the Fatherland, you can pick it up any day at the Golden Triangle...pm me, but do it soon as the O`fest beer here in Germany goes off the market sooner as it does in the States.

Hi Jonny,
It might be a good idea to have something to peg out your parking / area space when you head out, especially on friday / saturday, otherwise free space could get taken up, sites are undefined , open pitches after all. I bought some great tape in a souviener shop in in Florida Mall last year, it has >>> F**k Off <<< (a bit extream but accepted in good humour - I hope!) repeated along its length, if you dont have any tape and spot a site with with some, most will provide enough for your purpose Wink especially if the request is accompanied with Warstarter O.

We tried tape last year and still came back to find some fuckwit camped in our parking space.  I wouldn't have minded if we had huge amounts of space marked out but we didn't!!  Ended up having to park the frigging car virtually in the front of the tent (nearly ran their blooming tent over as well!!)
