Lee have you any of the Roush Mustang that robby Gordon drove to class honours at the Rolex 24. Not sure what year it was but it was white with the american flag down the side or on the roof, not sure which. I need some pictures for reference as i have the model to build

OK all, here's another one you Euro's only got too see race once at Le Mans, but we got to see race for three seasons.
The Clayton Cunningham Nissan 300 ZX Turbo

Sebring 1994 - 38th Overall (from 3rd) - Leitzinger/Gentalozz.  It lists Millen and O'Connell on the door as
well but they were shown on both cars. They never drove the #76, it was out after 121 laps (roughly 4 hrs)
the sister #75 won overall with Millen/O'Connell/Morton.

and a look at her guts...

-Lee, the lesson continues...

Lee,
Haven't consulted the books or the web today but refresh my memory, did the GTO Audi's race at Sebring or just the sprint events?  Saw Hurley & Stuckie have a hell of a battle at Mid-Ohio in 1990 with the Jean Sage entered JP Jabouille-Olivier Grouillard driven Ferrari F40.
I know the Ferrari never made a Sebring appearance (or did it?) but the Audi's not sure about.

Yeesh! Things getting all blurred together after all these years, the Audi 90 GTO cars raced in 1989, the F40 in '90
The Ferrari lost to the Millen Nissan, not the wacky Bavarian....Have another beer Fax!

Nope Lorry,
I think the Lancia's only contested the World Championship Group C rounds and Sebring was a IMSA sanctioned event.  I don't think the Lancia's were even eligible under IMSA regs.  Would have been nice though.

AUDI GTO's and Ferreri F-40 never ran at Daytona or Sebring. just later season sprints. I say the F-40 go at it with the 300-ZX at Mid-Ohio. Only time I ever saw the ferrari run.  I saw the Audi GTO at Road America.

The Lancia's never did Sebring, but they did run in the 24 Hrs of Daytona Twice.
I don't think it was that model, I think the Beta was more squared off...

1980:  Finished  10th overall, 597 laps   - Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turb Jolly Club
Carlo Facetti / Martino Finotto / Gianfranco Ricci

1981 Finished 18th Overall, 545 laps    - Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turb Martini Racing
Riccardo Patrese / Hans Heyer / Henri Pescarolo

Isn't an open window very uneffective as for aerodynamics in a racing car?  ::) ???

Basically yes.  It must knock a fair chunk off the top speed.  I've never understood why Nascar cars just have the net.  OK front engined (or radiatored) cars will get very hot, but there must be a more aerodynamic way of doing it.

From legend, when the D type Jaguars had the perspex wrap around windscreens, some of the drivers didn't like looking through the perspex, so on one car they cut off the top two inches, so they could see over it.  The aerodynamicist complained that it would take two and a half mph off the top speed.  It was nearer three.
