Camping set deal
« on: April 03, 2006, 05:00:37 pm »
Might be of interest to our US freinds coming over, seems to be quite a good deal at £35 for 2 people.
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3409086/Trail/C%24cip%3D36237.Sports%2Band%2Bleisure%3EC%24cip%3D36238.Camping%2Band%2Bcaravaning%3EC%24PROMOTION%3D1.On%2BSpecial%2BOffer.htm
If anybody needs any help in securing a set let me know (would not be able to transport them to LM though (a bit restricted in the MG!)), but I'm sure we could sort something out.
This deal only runs until 25th April.

I may have some extra space going out (from Bristol) - not quite sure yet depends how many cars we're taking out.

I've also got a few spare sleeping mats that I can take out if anyone wants to borrow one.

I definitely WILL have space.  Only me and my gear in 4-seater estate.  Leaving God's country (30 miles S of Bristol) on Sunday 11th, A303, M3, M25(S) and on to Dover.  Can't bring anything back though - I will have 1600kgs of caravan on the back - plenty of space but too close to weight limit for comfort, especially as I will have many kilos of liquids to bring back!

It's certainly a good deal if the weather is OK, but it looks like it is a single skin summer tent (like Les had at Sebring last year) so won't stand up to much rain! (Les' transformed from a tent into a pond!!)

Why does everyone keep mentioning the weather?? Rain does not fit in with my plan of lazing in the sun and cooling off in the pool and so will not be allowed
I always stay too long. Long enough for something to go wrong

Its quite simply really.  if you want it sunny and hot, sod's law says the more you speak sunny the less chance it will happen and she will dump huge amounts of cold wet stuff down on us.  So enough already, less of the sunny weather.  FS

Del - I'll give you a wave on the way - I'm also off on the 11th!   ;D

We'll probably meet up in the traffic jam on the M25 - what are you driving?  I'm leaving fairly early - to catch 10.40 speedferry crossing.  Sh*t, I've just worked out I will have to leave by 6.30 am.  Delete the 'fairly' above!!

we usually leave the house before 5am!! This year the ferry is not until 4pm, and it is only 1 hours drive :-)

Your probably right Mark, LM rain can almost match that of Florida rain (watched the 2001 video again the other day!!), maybe a stand by emergency Tarpaulin from Carrefour would be a good idea, but a double skinned tent for a single trip would be quite a bit more expensive.

Yep I reckon we'll be in the same jam!  We're heading for a Sea France crossing that is around 11am so we're planning for a 6am departure!   Add in that I'm working the GP at Silverstone Thursday pm, Friday and Saturday and it's all going to be a bit rushed!

They'll be me and Simon (Keithk will already be out there) in a black Saab 93 hatch with a black roofbox adorned with Club Arnage stickers!  What about you?  (thread drift anyone?!)

Just me in silver-grey Audi A4 estate adorned with ACO membership stickers and, of course, old and new CA stickers.

Will look out for you.

Fab - we're either picking up another passenger or another car in Dover so we'll almost have ourselves a convoy!   Are you going all the way down on the Sunday?
