Zytek/Hybrids/Johnny Herbert/ALMS News
« on: April 19, 2006, 10:16:55 am »
http://www.racecar-engineering.com/content/news.htm

Zytek is currently seeking funding to run two cars at Le Mans next year, a conventional LMP1 and a hybrid-electric version. Talks are taking place with Johnny Herbert to head a fully professional line-up of drivers. The company is also in discussion with the FIA regarding the use of hybrid-electric power when this becomes legal in Formula One in 2009.

Meanwhile the new but hybrid rules Zytek 06S is undergoing last minute wind tunnel testing in preparation for a three day trial at Magny Cours the first week in May. It is entered for Spa and Le Mans after which it is more likely to run in the ALMS and particularly at Petit Le Mans.

Maybe it can make it farther than turn one at the Petit this year.  ;D

Could this be the rumoured Herbert/Brundle/Blundell partnership?

Christ I hope not. I'm quite happy to see these gentlemen in a team together but I do not want to see a fukkin' hybrid electric wheelchair. Nor indeed doI want to see a diesel Audi. I mean, how exiting is that going to be?  >:( >:( >:(
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Why not ? Do you remember Sparky ?
I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.
