No Charge, why would you want to make something on it?

Ah, I can see why you thought that FS

I've got a couple of cameras, but no means for charging them.

Was really wondering if beer (warm :'() is the accepted unit of currency in the barter economy. If it looks like I'm not going to be able to borrow / pinch / buy some juice, then I'll go for the inverter

As FS says most will gladley spare few volts, a 4 way plug gang to  take your chargers without taking up their sockets would probably be appreiciated.
An Inverter is Ideal for camera / phone chargers as they draw very little from the car and in your control.

I agree that you will always find people willing to help out and let you plug in, but bearing in mind that some of these things can take  hours to recharge, there is an element of risk leaving your expensive gear attached to someone else's leccy supply.  (even if they themselves are honest you might be kinda putting them in a position where they feel responsible for looking after your gear).  I suppose a long extension lead might sort that tho!

At least with an in car thingy you can lock stuff inside your car while its charging.

Not wishing to imply that the place is overrun with pikies, but better safe than sorry.

Dear Fran, always good thoughts:

"Not wishing to imply that the place is overrun with pikies, but better safe than sorry."

but it is overrun with pikies, they had our genny away on the first night we used it. As it was borrowed it wasnt a very happy bunny that had to take an unexpected whip-round for the rightful owner...

The next one will be chained to all the cars and the race track!

I HATE PIKEYS

we had an unused slab of stellas a couple of years back so we drand a random 5 or 6 pissed in the empty bottles, carefully replaced the lids and left by our tent. Low and behold it was taken by the time we woke up to go.

I hope the responsible pikey was enjoying the night and got through all the bottles!!  :P

I'd buy an inverter they aren't expensive and then you're not tied to finding others to borrow from and watching your equipment etc.

Useful things as well.

I believe offering someone a warm beer is akin to asking to sleep with their sister. Might be okay if you know them well but hardly the way to make new friends. I suggest you stop worrying about phone charging and start worrying about how to chill your beer  ;D

There is a plan afoot for that.

And have just bought a car charger for the camcorder batteries.

Cooking on charcoal now.

Did you here about the bloke in Kenya who got sick of being car-jacked on a regular basis? He left a bottle of whiskey in the glove box. However, he added a few packets of Weedol (paraquat) to the liquor. Lo and behold a day after being car-jacked again, the local paper ran a headline saying "Three men found poisoned in car".

You could try battery acid Dave?
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.
