And who's going to throw the first stone? Not me, that's for sure.

"Speed one has been withdrawn from service on the 12/06/06 at 21.10 for
technical maintenance. "

Oh sh*t! Guess who's on the first crossing of the 13th...

I best check out my water wings and snorkel, I can't imagine there being many alternatives if it's still down.

Can you still just turn up at the tunnel, or do you need to book in advance?

in this case as it should have been working it is "unscheduled" or unforeseen.  because if it was scheduled maint' it wouldn't be occurring on a working day

I would have thought that the fact they have given advanced notice with the date and time of the maintenance - it must be considered scheduled.

I am going out on it on the 3rd (two days time) lets hope it managers to limp across!

Aaaaah, you see this is the dark secrets of maintenance speak.  if it had been scheduled maint' then there wouldn't have been a sailing!  as there was a sailing there couldn't have been scheduled maint'.

its like the space time continuum, can't have two similar bodies from separate universe's occupying the same space 8)

Therefore, as the sailing has been cancelled and maint' carried out the maint' was "unscheduled" but is now scheduled.  Hope this makes sense ;D
