Not sure if this has been clarified or not, but.....

Is the new large banking on the inside of tetre rouge the intended viewing bank for next year, once the corner has been re-worked?

Or will it (the banking) change again once all the development work is complete?

If this is the intended banking, any ideas how far back the fence will move to?

Thanks.

no idea, but must say, i was very impressed by the banking.  It gives a great view over the whole corner from the exit of the esses to someway down the Mulsanne.

I agree, that is why I was trying to find out if it is permanent.

(that must be a record.....nearly 100 views and no replies!)

It just looks temporary. I would guess they did not get the grass seed down in time for it to take before the thousands arrived.

Surprised more of it did not wash away in the Wednesday night down pour.

Does anyone know if the tunnell will be removed or revamped when the corner is re-worked?

Maybe the ACO will stretch the budget and put some lights in it........

The nice little plan and info section about the works has gone from the ACO site.  I'm still working on this one!

I guess by May next year then it will look like a hill on the south downs.......covered in (weeds and) wild flowers, all pretty like.........then some greeney will declare it a site of natural beauty and we won't be allowed to stand there.......ho humm.

Yes in a word.  There will be a full section on the heli ride in next years guide.  By Sunday morning when this shot was taken, I think there were only 10-12 cars left running, so not much too see in that respect, the heli's speed is 90 kts at 150m, so any cars will go by at a fair lick.

I enjoyed it to see the track etc and how it all fits together, if that makes sense.  Rather than the cars, we went round twice, to coin a well known bombing phrase!!  sat in the back and had a marvellous view, you get some numb-skulls who must sit in the front but you don't see much  more to be honest, don't take some huge lens you don't need it, nice wide angle on full auto and just click away.  Probably took about 100 shots from the air, marvelous.  all the shots from the LM weekend were taken on a point and shoot Casio.

quite agree.. the heli ride is a must ;D ;D, and yup.. we had a dad and his 12year old daughter bouncing around in the front so had to try to take photos (on line soon) around them as they wouldnt stay still >:( >:(

I'll put the Heli ride down for next year - can we have some more pics.

As for the Tetre Rouge Inside Banking, isn't this the site of the new sports stadium

this shows the position of the new football ground.

This would explain why they have started to demolish the houses alongside the road.

The only positive thing I could think of concerning the new banking was being able to see the cars set off down the Mulsanne. Now that view is going to be blocked by a sports stadium ???

I was disappointed the trees on the run down from the esses have been taken away I always thought they added to the atmophere as they made it darker and   seemed to change the engine note

Plus when you walked through late at night the dust hung in the air......not so much choking you but sticking to the skin giving a nice fake tan look.

But you are right, now that I think about it the cars did not appear so loud through that section, even on the outside of the track.
