Don't understand the banning message, why just ban the PM's   If he's been offensive it should be a ban on posting on the forum.

Disagree Del, it doesn't say that at all; it says from posting or sending PM's on this forum.  The ban is about PM's.  I know what it is trying to say, but it don't say it in the words.

Smokie said in this topic (click) that he had enough of the swearing, and I replied with a "wrong word". That was all.
I could still receive PM's though, got one from Smokie explaining why...
(and had no option but reacting via text message on my mobile )

Just thought it was rather funny to use the remark I got on top of the forum as my avatar

There were no complaints from anyone - I wuz just doing me job guv, in line with forum policies.

I hadn't used the button before. When you ban a user you have choices of what kind of Ban - Full Ban, Cannot Post (or PM), Cannot Register.

You can also ban by username, email address, IP address or Hostname.

And a ban can be set to expire in a number of days, or Never.

The mesage presented to the user is a system message over which I have no control - except I can add text to it to inform the user why he's banned (which I didn't in this case).
