The taps on the standpipes near us were new this year had no thread on them for fixing hose pipes. The end of the tap was smooth and tapered so a jubilee clip would not hold.
Apart from this, the top of the tap had to be pushed down and then released to start the water flowing, after a couple of litres the flow stopped and the top had to be pushed again.
Not very user friendly if you wanted to fill a pool.

You guys crack me up............easy innit .....take your own tap ! thats called easyology  ;D
been there done that doing it again !

After 15+ years of having the same type of taps we were not prepared for the change this year. Not so much of a case of bad planning, more like a touch of complacency, which, after the amout of years without a problem is only to be expected.
Rest assured, next year we will have running water on demand.

We are probably better off going Pompey - Caan because it dosn't look like we will get back into the country via Dover.

Just a thought ;)  How would you like to be PAID to go to LM?  Seems impossible but true.  New legislation being brought forward by Nu Labour pays out 2,500GBP bounty plus travel costs to all illegal immigrants that are currently in the slammer.  Get arrested as a foreign national without the necessary paperwork and you too could be having a free trip to LM next year.  The tough part is the paperwork as for a few bob passed to the right quarter has this sorted. ;)  Saw this being discussed last night on the telly and it also seems possible to have as many goes as you like.

Hope i haven't offended any of our luvvies  ???

Preparations are well under way, Tickets sorted ferry/train options being discussed, tent and other camping gear stowed away, safe from mice/squirrels etc.

Only thing left is to weigh up hotel options for Sunday night and decide who is driving!

There was a small amount of desent in the ranks, one person thought Masion Blanche campsite may be better for a change, however a quick search around this site pointed out the error of his ways, and its the hallowed grit of the Annexe for us again!

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

Ian, we must never give up, Brother Bob is not beyond the salvation to be found at the holy shrine of MB, we face many temptations on the way to Nirvana ;)
