He said he had read it in one of the UK papers this morning.
Could well be complete rubbish, in that case. I'll ask him which paper.

Is that a criticism of that bastion of well-informed, honest and impartial British newspaper tabloid reporting.  If it's in The Sun, it must be right.....

Excellent - I will take that as a compliment    being the rebel that I am

Thankfully I am just pleased that we own one of the last British Built TVRs - I am sure that there are enough specialists out there who will be able to supply spares and servicing.  I also have an FTO and manage to get parts for that without any problem - usually cheaper and better quality from specialists than Mitsubishi themseleves.

Can I also tempt fate here and say that in over 5 years our Griffith has never let us down and our Tuscan has now done over 8,000 miles (including the Stelvio Pass last month) without a wobble - where as our Saab 95 .... now that is a totally different story.......

Yeah - it is a shame that TVR have taken their manufacturing to Europe - although the engines will still be developed and produced in the UK - but IMHO the Russian lacked a clear directive.  This wasn't helped by the "unreliable" reputation of TVRs and the public washing of dirty laundry on another certain popular motoring based (?) forum.

European build wont stop me buying another TVR if it offers the same make up - a lot of grunt, individuality and styling for a lot lot less than a Ferrari.  Otherwise I might well be looking at a Corvette Z06.  (In Le Mans blue of course)

But for the moment - I still LOVE my TVR

As a younger, more reckless fella (I'm only 40 now) I had one of the last pre cat' Griffs.
During my TVR owning experience, the car only let me down once. It was however, on a dismay Friday afternoon, in the driving rain, on what was the last shopping day before Christmas, in a bus lane, in, wait for it.........Regent Street. Marvellous.
But otherwise, a brilliant car to have owned.
Very sad to see the marque being lost abroad.

Indeed and published in a respectable arena too.   Interesting and perhaps careful use of the word "assemble" in the article rather than "made", which could well mean that, as well as the drivetrain, the chassis and body components could be manufactured elsewhere.
