Interview with Team Joest member at Essen motorshow
« on: December 06, 2006, 12:02:27 pm »
Just found that on a german sportscar-site, it's in German only, so here in brief what is says. They interviewed Ralf Jüttner, Chief-Technician of Team Joest about their plans for 2007:

- Nothing is confirmed yet, but likely that they will run at Le Mans
- 3 more Audi R10 chassis will be build, total of 6 cars then, theoretically allowing 2-car efforts in both ALMS and LMS
- No cars for customer teams, e.g. Champion
- Competing with Peugeot in LMS would be nice, but this series is virtually non-existent in the public, no appropriate TV coverage
- Situation in ALMS is much better, better coverage, more races, larger variety of race tracks, e.g. 3 downtown tracks

Well, let's wait and see 8)
"… to be honest, I did it purely for the money at first. I went to Le Mans
hoping that the car would break down. I came away in love with the place." - Eddie Irvine

Werner, I posted your notes on Ten tenths and someone there feels the translation regarding Champion is slightly wrong and it should be:

At this constellation with six existing cars, further customer employments of the car, apart from champion Racing, are almost impossible.

I dont know which is right but it makes a significant different to the meaning.

Champion is Audi Sport North America.  They were absorbed and given factory status.
I stole DelBoy's lighter and lived to tell the tale.

mal, you`re right, I just checked again the german text, it says "apart from Champion Racing"
