Martini's idea on a shirt...

Looks good, and will stand out at a distance, photo of SMQ in the 917 is excellent, but will be a bit indistinct if you are more than 6' away.

the man has a point!!.. also maybe lose/move the CA emblem from above it and raise SMQ as he seems to be a bit low on the back??

Personally, I think a 917 is much better looking than SMQ.

Hi Paddy,
I support this one as the Corvette is in the lead. I also agree with Barry that the shirt should reflect the race. Even though he and I will be in the Stella Bar on Wednesady evening :o ;D
Phil

I do watch the first qualifing session wednesday, as I walk round to Tetre, and we always intend and try to get out the bar for the second. But sometimes Miss Reassuringly tempts me away . :)

It's the Leffe there that does for me, Barry.  We haven't left the Stella bar until 2am on Thursday for the past 2 or 3 years  ::)

Oops - miss a tread for a day or so and it's already very long!

Del - 1 x medium shirt for me plus a couple of stickers please.

Question regarding stickers - any chance you are thinking of adding a type that can be stuck inside windows? I'm a bit nervous about repeatedly removing adhesive items from my precious paintwork.

Mike and others, it might be handier to await orders untill untill definite decision is taken concerning the design. All orders placed in this topic can easily get lost due to the amount of replies :-\

I did ask for numbers, Paddy, although at this stage, the objective was to 1) get a feel for the number of shirts wanted and 2)instigate discussions on the design.  Successful on the latter anyway   :) :) :)

As far as I have read back, there are three potential designs which are interesting to members.
Is it an idea to -maybe start a new topic and- turn it into a poll?

Does everybody agree on the front? The designs above are for the rear!

What ever design comes out, us from DfH will most probably take at least 10 - 15 shirts, Dell ;D

The middle one would need 2 options!  (Mrs) Termie

Great suggestions guys - keep them coming.

I have made one executive decision - to drop the Union flag from the sleeve.  I have had a few pm's about this, one person saying they would not have a shirt if the Union flag was on it.  So, as there was no big shout to keep the flag, it's gone.

My own view on the vaious suggestion so far:

Generally
1  Steve McQeen - No.  We did this rather successfully last year
2  Circuit Diagram - No.  Too many others groups have used this
3  Drinking slogans - No.  I prefer the spriit of LM rather than the Drinking at LM
4  Real Men..... slogan - No.  Dated, and I still have the original on my car (I can't get it off!!)

Specifically
5  The Clock - would have been better if it showed 4.00 pm
6  Various start-line pics - OK, but don't know what they would be like as line drawings.  I think full colour versions are a no-no as they would boost the costs dramatically.  I particularly like Steve B's 1971 start - simple and is recognisably LM
7  Aston/Vette - OK, but it doesn't symbolise LM - it could be any ALMS race.

As I said - my views only. And I typed this before Paddy's summary above.

Prefer option 2. the third option I think needs the CA logo leaving out so as to bring the rest up higher.

I like the middle one but without the "real men" bit - it seems to be a bit "optimistic" in my experience.... (for optimistic read deluded) :-\

Can you ask the printer if I can send a ladies shaped t-shirt for printing again like I did with Robbo last year? **

Thanks.

F

** Same question might apply to DfH t-shirt too!

P.S.  the corvette only appears to be in the lead cos its on the inside of a bend and by the time it gets to the next bend the aston will have cut thru and disappeared over the horizon... I tell myself.

By the way, like I said before: all texts and logos can be changed easily. That's a two minute job.
