traveling to LeMans from US/Calif
« on: March 01, 2007, 07:58:01 pm »
hi, all,
After being absent from Le Mans since 2004 I'm returning once again.  Unfortunately the folks with whom I did the trip in previous years (from '99 to '04) can't make it this year.

So, I wanted to ask for anyone's help out there, would it be possible if anyone could share:
(a) some camping space at the circuit, and/or
(b) a ride to/from LM from London area (or someplace reachable via public transit from London), if possible.

I would share all expenses, & could help cook, etc.
I can bring all needed gear - or else will buy at the Carrefour & ditch it afterwards (you know the routine).
Would prefer to get to the circuit earlier in the week rather than later, although my schedule is flexible at this point.

I've only camped at Tetre Rouge previously but in my past years' wanderings I've become pretty familiar with the circuit & the other campsites/locations.

3 months and 1 week to go, I can't wait!

Slightly OT, but where in CA are you? I'm in San Francisco...

Hi Mike and welcome.  Why don't you stick around and join in a bit for a while.  There might well be someone who can help but maybe it's a bit early for absolute planning.

hi Piglet, thanks for the suggestion, I will do that.

I've been away for some time (from LM and Club Arnage), never posted much before - and basically none since the site redo in 2003?/2004? - will try to participate a bit more this time around.

cheers,
mike

thanks Lawnmower Man,

unfortunately my lawn mower is electric (being an environmentalist tree-hugging californian, and all), and I don't think the power cord will quite reach Le Mans.   Plus there'd be the matter of fitting it into my airline carry-on luggage...

does the Carrefour sell them?

;D
