Trunks vs shorts
« on: June 17, 2003, 04:23:31 pm »
What the feck have the French got against swimming shorts - at least the people in the Atlantides swimming complex.  Went there on Fri, all 9 of us had proper swimming shorts, but were informed that only swimming trunks were allowed.

That was the only downside to a fab week.

Next year go to Carrefor and buy a 3m diameter pool with steel sides strong enough that you can sit on, for 60 Euros. We bought ours and had great fun putting it up and cooling of on the hot afternoons. There were no rules we even alowed diving even though it was only .5m deep.

Picture on its way on to www.24-LeMans.com

Rick.

Apparently it's a hygiene thing. They see shorts (even proper swimming ones) as being something that you could wear anywhere, therefore sit anywhere on anything. They feel you wouldn't do that in actual trunks.

Shows how little they know!!   :D
