Smashing Time!

Thought this might amuse some of you.

I was in the dog's car and this kind lady did a U-turn in front of my car causing me to pile into the side of her new Vectra. The Subaru's plastic bumper hit her back O/S wheel and as you can see it smashed it out of whack. Closer inspection showed it had bent the axle mounts. Apparently she was lost and needed to turn around..... 

The funny bit is that apparently, according to the other party, it's all my fault as I didn't see her indicate! Actually, she's wrong. I did see it, just in the split second before she pulled across me. I collected her and spun her through about 110 degrees til she was facing the way she actually wanted to go.

Anyway, I'm okay apart from a stiff neck and back and more importantly the dog was unfazed too. The car is unfortunately a write off as the damage is about £2000 on a £2500 vehicle. I've had that thing years and it belonged to a pal before that   At least it wasn't the 350Zarse!

Glad you're OK and at least it wasn't everyones favourite green machine involved!

Does the fact she is wearing a towel indicate she is of a middle eastern disposition, if so she was lucky you weren't driving a f**k*ng tank. It would also explain her crap driving.

Glad you're ok my friend - shame about the car (yours not the other one!) and the circumstances.  Having had a driveway incident in our road recently. The plonker across the road backed out of his drive into my stationary Land Rover without looking - did 1500 quids worth of damage to his Vectra  and not a scratch on the Land Rover - says something about Luton's finest!  But it still ended up as a 50/50 claim because there were no witnesses, other then him in his car and my missus in the Land Rover, he of course gallantly said it was all her fault and vice versa....

Oh Blarry hell Andy, what a sod, but as long as you and Dave are OK we are happy-ish.

Get on with hitting her insurance anyway, you have to take the offensive with this stuff or it WILL be your fault.

What happened to Mark's Landy is what happened to my Midget and its never been quite as good as before.

About 2 weeks before Le Mans some BASTARD reversed his 17 tonner into and over the front of my beloved Alfa Bertone- Friday aft on the highstreet in front of a dozen or so taxi drivers and 2 CCTV cameras. He buggered off and I called the cops. Got a call from them last night to say that they have been unable to trace him because the recently installed £750,000 cameras won't record and the operators were changing shift at the time and saw nothing!  I've been told to just forget about it and fix it myself!

Not quite as embarassing as reversing your own Landy into your own car as Mr T did....   His  comment afterwards "I'd forgotten it doesn't have parking sensors."

... That's terrible! I'm sorry to hear that but I truly can't understand how the local council (?) or whoever is responsible for running such a system can get away with such shoddy service - afterall, the money for these things comes for you and I as the rate paying public. I don't suppose any of the witnesses caught the registration as the Dibble can't trace it?

That's terrible, if that happened to me I'd be heartbroken.
Strange, you venture 12 inches inside a bus lane and the camera  never misses, but a crime occurs whether it be a mugging or a hit and run, and nothing gets recorded.

Makes me wonder if i should wear a stocking over my head next time i'm asked to call in and see the bank manager! Car is now repaired- took 6 hours with the hammer and dollies to get straightened out- replicating 35 year old paint has taken even longer- I can now sleep again! Wonder if it would be different if it was a pensioner that got reversed over? As for the taxi drivers, they saw nothing gov, even though they were all stood around looking at the car when I returned. Arseholes.
