I used to go there regularly in the early 70's as my girlfriend at the time was into horses (junior Champion at Hickstead '72).  I still pass there regulary.
But agree with you regards the levels of snobbery experienced there.

You ought to go to the Smiths Lawn at Windsor.  Horse boxes are not just for transporting horse you know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! particularly when they're parked up!!!
