Superb!

Really looking forward to Farnborough now.

Well done to all involved in getting the Vulcan flying again.

A major achievement in the face of almost impossible bureaucracy

I did find out yesterday that there is a bit of a link to Le Mans. One of the major backers of the Vulcan to the Sky Trust is none other than AD Holdings. You may or may not know that AD Holdings is owned by Mike Newton who drives the RML MG.

Can we donate a few quid each to get her to fly at LM next year?

A low level flyby over the start finish straight or even a display over the airfield would be fantastic.

Just seen the F22 and the F16 being put through their paces for Farnborough.  Absolutely fantastic!  Also found out that if I move my desk to the window on the other side of the building I can watch the show next week while I should be working.  Brilliant!  ;D

Vulcan went tech at waddington, (Alternator problem) after the display, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem to rectify it.

I'm gutted to be missing the F22 but after getting to Waddington last week and Bon Jovi at Twickers the week before I thought it would be pushing it get to Fairford as well.  She did after all put up with me going to Le Mans for a week!

For me this plane is a true Icon of everything that is British, i remember seeing it at various air shows when i was a boy and being totally over awed by its presence, they way it looked they way it sounded, and of course the sterling effort during the falklands conflict. What a an aircraft this is. Its great to see it fly again.

The Vulcan 607 book is a fascinating read, I would recommend it if you haven't read it already

As my Dad used to work on them, I bought him the book XM607, also a limited edition print of 'Corporate Preluded' by Philip West.

In the book, there is mention of Peter McGregor, he developed the refueling droge.  His two sons are close family friends and sailing comrades.

We have the red arrows etc for our Battle of Britain display which then goes on to Jersey. We are being asked for £12k for the Vulcan to do a flyover!

It will be in the vicinity anyway as it is doing the Jersey display.
