Another pic,

yes it is special, was seen at Retromobile in Paris a few years ago, so before Top Gear stuff.

There is a serious use for it as well - that was what I was told.

I'd luv to see it being clamped or even drive it around London would be fun, but I think it may be to wide!

I know some cars are referred to as barges, but that's taking the piss.

Is it a 'heavylift' model for transporting very heavy things?

Its not for transporting things, as such, its designed for a reason - to do something, used by a major manufacture.

Curious? It does look good in real life as well

More details of Citroen - It is a a little special DS, it has two engines Chevrolet V8 of which one of 5,7 Liters, it develops 250 CV, it weighs 9 tons and can roll to 180 km/h.

Judging by the large number used, was it used by a tyre company to test tyres?

Failing that I seem to recal the French were fond of long distance desert exploration, did this car form part of a survey team?

Yes another drink I owe, think thats two drinks, one for each engine.

When I first saw it, I thought, makes the Batmobile look like a shopping trolly"

Details - (hard to find details on the web)

It is a Citroen DS of 1972, it was built by Michelin, it has 10 wheels, or rather 11! It was built to test the wear of the tires of truck. The tire of truck in question takes seat in the center of the car, the frame is cut out to let the tire touch the ground.

Its nickname, they is the "Thousand Legs". It is a a little special DS, it has two engines Chevrolet V8 of which one of 5,7 Liters, it develops 250 CV, it weighs 9 tons and can roll to 180 km/h.

Be great to see it race round the M25,
