While visiting our Dutch friends last weekend,...........The subject was raised on a trek to the southern hemisphere in 2009 to watch the 12 hour endurance race at Bathurst
So who's going then?

I'm seriously thinking of going. Not sure it takes them 12 hours to do 1000 miles though.

I watched the latest edition of Bathurst on Motors, I believe it took them 10½ hours. Yep, seriously thinking about it. All to do with the pennies though, and it seems you need quite a few of them to get you there  |

Hmm...A weekend of racing followed by a week chilling out at my Dad's house on the Victoria coast. Very tempting!

Going to the Antipodes in February '08 for daughter's wedding but unfortunately that will be it for a couple of years or so. Will just have to settle for Le Mans again. C'est la vie.....

Yes I have to agree with you Oldtimer, any thoughts I had of going to Australia's greatest motor race have been filed permanently in the bin. Looks like it is attended by complete w+nkers if those clips are anything to go by.
