mobile broadband

anyone use this at the moment in the UK as im looking into the 3 networks version at the moment as i have no net at home and the phone line will also be going soon!

this is what im looking at but i want a 12 month contract -

We use them for when employees are travelling/staying in Hotels. They have proven to be very good. In fact, at home I get a faster speed through that connection than I do through my home braodband.

We use the ones from T-Mobile and I believe they do a 12 month contract (although it's obviously more expensive than the 24 month one.

Check the coverage maps though to ensure that your chosen network covers your home and any other likely areas of travel.

BTW, don't use it abroad!!  Costs are around £5/£6 per Mb!!!

t mobile have go to 3 to improve there service so i know 3 will be good. ive checked the coverage and should be fine. decided a 18 month contract maybe better as it will see me to around may next year when i will probably be moving! i wont use it overseas as TBH we use the neighbors broadband with his permission!

Have you come across BTOpenzone? I just did while researching BTHomeHub info and discovered there are a couple of hotspots near me, unfortunately none within range of my antenna. There is some kind of deal to persuade folks with BTHomeHubs to join in - see BTFon.

I made some enquiries about the 3 mobile broadband and its use in france... had 3 different answaers fron 3, Carphone warehouse and phones for you.... basically it will cost you heaps to use it in a country that dosnt have 3 coverage between £3 and £6 per Mb) as stated earlier...
Hopefully somone living near HA will have wireless without a blocker!

Got a company HSDPA by Vodafone for when aroad with the lappy, and the better half uses it when in the hospital (USB-modem instead of PCMCIA). Does about 3.6 MBit. Taking it abroad does also cost a fortune though.

i wont use it overseas as its going to go into my pc. the only thing i cant use with 3 is online gaming but that doesn't interest me anyway

Voda - better coverage, 3.6Mb speed versus 1.6 (I think for 3).

12 month contract @ £15 / month for 3Gb which is easily enough and free connection.

All the three deals that I looked at wanted a fee for the modem, Voda came free.

T Mobile are also good with their web and walk product...

That's a good price. Seems to be 24 month contract though.

Edit: You can have shorter contracts but the modem price increases.

I have Vodafone Business Mobile Broadband and it's great.
