Sorry but decent beer does NOT come out of bottles.

Since moving down to Dorset I have developed a very keen taste for Ringwood 49er, just right for drinking, standing by the fire in the Haven Inn on Mudeford Quay whist it lashes down outside.

Since moving down to Dorset do you actually do anything BUT drink?
I always stay too long. Long enough for something to go wrong

Victoria Bitter - a hot day in Cairnes while working on the dive boats.

I know it's all about where you were at the time but I was forced to drink this muck on Qantas last week. Filth. Utter filth.

You should have flown Air NZ Andy.  They would only have forced that Kiwi muck Steinlager on you.   :-X

Doris, the only thing stopping me upping sticks to NZ is the fecking awful beer. Speights, Mac's and all the rest of the crap, just awful. It's like stepping back thirty years to the worst days of keg bitter/lager in the UK. It comes in different colours, out of different taps, but it all has the great taste of absolutely nothing but fizzy water with massive bubbles in it. Keeps you belching all nigh. Nice.  >:(

And you wouldn't believe how much it costs either; where you could get it we found Guiness at $8nz, about £3.60 a pint.

At least it's possible to find good beer in the States, Yeungling anyone?
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Most of the brown beers that I drank in Belgium last year... and yes I did drink something other than spirits... and wine...

Andy, it saddens me that I have to agree with you.  Mostly because I believe NZ to be the best place in the world and I'm sad that they can't yet make a decent beer.  Just as well the wine is fantastic.  Oh, and I've talked my parents into planting cider apple trees in their new orchard.   ;D

Draught Yeungling was USD3 a pint in Key West last week. It was somewhat flat though.

I do like a drop of Warsteiner...
