Goodwood breakfast club
« on: April 09, 2008, 03:49:23 pm »
Has anyone been to one of these monthly meetings and are they any good? sounds like it could be a bit of fun, and its free which is always a bonus :D

Its called the breakfast club, but does that mean its all over before 11am?

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

By all accounts it's very good, one of my south coast mates and fellow Lemaner/petrolhead went a few times last year and always thought there was a good display of motors. I guess if you are close to Goodwood then it's ok for a hour or so on a Sunday morning.

That link says its 08.30 to midday.   Its too far for me but looks like it could be fun.

Wow, I was there all day saturday with Simon Zarse, it was fairly sunny all day so the snow came as a bit of a shock I guess. I spent the day hooning round in a few smoky motors.

Got a lift in a genuine Lotus Cortina Mk1 driven by Mike Pullen, a classic F1 driver. His Repco Brabham unfortunately failed the noise test. This made him angry as he needed a shakedown test before Cadwell in a few weeks time. He took his frustration out on the poor old 'tina, wringing the bastard's neck such as I have never seen; we had a small "off" which was highly amusing. I was glad to get out alive mind.  :)
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.
