Kev, Marks and sparks always seem to have a better rate than the high street and banks. Open on a Sunday also.

The Post Office just came 3rd last in Which survey. First 3 - Chequepoint, ICE and SAGA, followed by Travelex. (Dare I say SAGA seems appropriate for most of you guys  ;D )

Anybody who has a Nationwide account gets bank rate, and no charges, if they use thier cards in the machines here.  Best exchange rate going by far.

The rates are all over the place though.  1.272 on Saturday and 1.263 at the end of business yesterday.

But the moral is definitely that if you travel abroad a lot, then a Nationwide account - if only just for this purpose - can save you a bomb over time.  (No, I don't work for them.)

Just be grateful you're not living in France and being paid in sterling.  Double :'(
