Pugs seem to have found a bit of speed in the last year. 4 secs a lap quicker than quali last time.

I predict sparks.

Been plenty of rain today and one of the Pugs has been crashed pretty badly by Gene I think who has injuried himself into the bargin. (Brusied toe)

I wonder if Pug will have to replace the chassis, or find they can fix the old one with a bit of glue. Can they change chassis between now and the race?

I think Pug will be ok to change chassis between the test day and race week.

The Lambo was granted special clearance last year to change cars, but that happened between the Q and the race.

Many teams in the past have found that a car that looked written off, once the garage door came down it was found to be only a scratch and was fixed over night.

Teams are meant to run the same chassis as they tested with. Peugeot back in the early 90's totalled a chassis, they swapped the chassis plate number to a new chassis and took part.
Since then the cars have transponders fitted in the chassis while they are being laid up, don't think it would be too difficult to dig out the old transponder and fit it in the new tub, especially for Peugeot

Exactly, can you imagine the ACO baning Pug from putting two cars on the start - the French would be burning truck-loads of sheep and tyres on the start straight in protest

They bent the rules already last year when the Pug was waiting at the side of the track. We'll surely see three Pugs on race day.

According to Autosport.com they have been told to rebuild no7 chassis and cannot use another. Is this old news?
 I wouldn't want to drive it after that shunt. Surely the tub is full of cracks. I don't think Araldite will fix that!

I can't remember which car this happened to last year, big crash in PQ and then the car was "rebuilt" for the race, rumour had it that it had the same chassis plate on it but that the whole thing was new apart from that!!   If it's a "new car" it has to be withdrawn and then I think someone else on the list gets a go before Pug can put a "new car" in.

...but as said, they allowed Peugeot to breach the rules to keep their podium place last year so I can't imagine Peugeot being told they can't race something that looks like the same car.

Pug or not, nobody else on the list can enter once Test Day is passed.  So it's a "new/rebuilt" Pug or 54 cars (53 if the Ferrari doesn't make it either - which is possible as it's seriously smacked up.)
