I want to lead a petition to have the LM authorities extend their tram system to the Orient Express Bar in Arnarge.  This would provide me with a great benefit and ensure that my human right to drink beer is protected under the Lisbon Treaty.

Please support this important cause and vote Oui!

Think the tram could do with being extended to Mulsanne, then onto Arnage village via Arnage corner.

Then we could visit all our favourite watering holes and corners, not worrying about d&d and still watch the race.

Totally agree Barry, in fact a loop system to include MB then back to start would be brill'.

Whilst a serious group of people such as us could never support DD, I do like the idea of a loop system than ultimately forms a bar crawl of everyones favourite watering holes.  This could become as much part of the LM24 folklore experience as the running start, the drivers parade and collapsing from the aroma whilst queing for the showers!

Keep the voites coming - encourage all your friends to vote and I will deliver it to the French Embassy and No. 10!!

OK my idea, nice and simple.

Raise a petition for a bar to be installed on the tram (or even better all of them) Then you could have each one sponsored by a brewery.

You could a Leffe tram, a 1664 tram,

OK, it's not that dificult to construct a looped tram system, it's just the cost and planning route to minimise additional landtake.  Just look at the Croydon system interacting with normal traffic.

To minimise cost it would have to be a single track. Could be operated two way by incorporating passing points with Stops.

It could be designed within a month.

Is that where the Croydon system has failed? - They should seek sponsorship and offer free beer to all passengers and the drivers - that way they have a better chance of avoiding the cars!

It hasn't failed.

As a driver, it scares the shite out of me, but I use it and have had no problems. If everyone OBEYS the frigging traffic signals. There would be NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.

But I agree with train sponsorship. Afterall you're not driving, so have a drink. (Need to change the Bye Laws for that one as its classed as a public space). However, that never worries the frenchies for 51 weeks of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If one of the trams is sponsored by Guinness do we all have to wear a mankini on it because if so I'll wait for the next or walk!

Is it still the case that you can drink quite legally on the British railway system 24/7 - could this not be an obvious development of this?

It depends on the 'train' operator.

Any LT trains/tubes/buses etc, No alchohol policy.
Thames ferries, a very open policy.
SWT no policy.

All 'long haul' trains have a buffett section that sells the dreaded juice.

If you want to test the system, just take a bottle of your prefered poison and drink it. Just take the consequences as well if caught without complaining.

Remember that 'A***holes' break the law, inteligent folk BEND the rules. Evil

My God - Surely the only way to suffer a tube journey is through drink.  I like lefties advice on bending the rules - does this include the old brown paper bag trick?Huh?
