Right, I've read enough messages about this year's race and on behalf of those of us poor souls who couldn't make it can we move on a bit? Please!!!!!
I'm making arrangements for Silverstone in September for the Le Mans series, arriving on the Saturday morning and staying at Whittlebury Hall campsite.
Anyone else going who fancies a Club Arnage gathering?
Big barbecue?
Big party?
Big race the next day.

Yup, I'm in (again).  Probably get there Friday again.  Are you going to camp up the hill with the rest of us this year Steve?

I kinda wanna, but i hate empty Silverstone, an atmos free zone. Might still be a drink and a laugh though.

I'm going to the 3 day classic and staying in the field opposite the main entrance (thereabouts).

Whittlebury hall is a bit of a hike much the same as GSJ but on a slope.

Ah, what's that campsite like. The only reason I stay at Whitlebury is for the facilities and location. I know it's a bit of a walk though.

If that's an invitation we're there!
Last year I arrived 5 hours ahead of the rest of my lot on the Saturday morning and had consumed nearly all the Stella by the time they arrived.
I was taken by the idyllic lakeside setting last year but when we got back to the site after the race the gazebo had been completely totalled by the wind (and not by French pikeys!). Up the hill it is then!

Oh, and thicker sleeping bag - good call!!

Have to agree with Andy, don't like Silverstone at all, a little soulless. Will prob come down though if I can get permission off the wife for a weekend away.
Didn't make Whittlebury last year although made the race. Is it far to the circuit? Is it worth bringing a bike?

IIRC that campsite wasnt open for the LMS race last year, it seems to only open for the bigger events.   Camping within the circuit wasnt open for LMS last year either, tho we were in there the rainy year (2005?).
