Gentlemen start your polishing pads
« on: June 29, 2008, 12:24:47 pm »
Stumbled across this on another forum, seems rather excessive but hay ho. Nothing wrong with a bucket and sponge IMHO ;D

Enjoy the read or will it send you off to sleep.

Me too.  What's even better are the reverential responses.   Yawn.

nowt wrong with a bit of detailing....

Although in future, I think I'll pay someone else to do it....far too much elbow grease goes in....

That said, taking 75 pictures of the sodding process it ridiculous....

I don't recall ever washing or detailing my last Laguna myself though I do take care to leave it out so the rain can do the job for me.  Though I think some did Tartiflette it when it went for a service.  I think they wanted to keep hte grease monkey's overalls clean.   ;D   What a nuisance that was I couldn't find the car when they delivered it back to the office.  I only found it by checking the Number plates.

Fell asleep twice!!!

Enough is enough.
At my age, it takes me all night to do what I used to do all night!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, growing old is compulsary, but growing up is just optional.

I don't do GREEN, I've got a 4x4

There is a guy who lives opposite me who spends ALL weekend cleaning his car. He takes the wheels off to polish the brake callipers. The best is he drys the lights with a hair dryer. One good thing it is like having your own security man in the close. ;D

To be fair it is the guys job, not as if he was just doing it for kicks, but to take so many pictures is quite very boring.

However if you read some of the responses one guy is nursing a semi after looking at the pictures which is very troubling.

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

It looks like it.

Having said that I did spend 2 hours cleaning the alloys on Saturday, but only because the front ones were black,(and the back ones silver)  On the basis that it was going to rain, there was no point in washing the rest of it (that one works most days).

My son has had his car nine months, and its still in showroom condition - well, it hasn't been touched since it left the showroom.
